Full Mechanical Body, Load Calculation, All standard component selection, Manufacturing drawings, Assembly Drawings
Scope and Approach
Our scope of work covered the complete mechanical body design, design for assembly, detailed calculations, standard component selection, and the preparation of manufacturing and assembly drawings. The focus was on delivering a robust yet practical solution that could transition smoothly from concept to production while ensuring efficiency and manufacturability.
Problem Identification
The key challenge was to develop a compact design that was optimal in weight, easy to transport, and capable of accommodating all components effectively. In addition, the product had to ensure smooth scanning of bags, simplified assembly, and compliance with safety and performance requirements. Balancing these constraints demanded innovative design thinking and precise engineering execution.
Research and Approach
To address the problem, we explored theories and practices in sheet metal optimization, tolerance stack-up management, and assembly compactness. Standard components were selected wherever possible, while customized sheet metal parts were designed to reduce material waste, ensure tight tolerances, and streamline the manufacturing process. This blend of standardization and customization created a strong foundation for both performance and cost efficiency.
Recommended Solution
With close collaboration between our design and R&D teams, we recommended the best-in-class product solution tailored to customer constraints and specifications. By offering a customizable range, we ensured flexibility for diverse applications while maintaining quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
The final product represented true innovation—evolving from scratch to detailed component and assembly drawings, and finally into a manufacturable, real-world solution. By leveraging lightweight, customized sheet metal components, we successfully reduced weight and cost while maintaining strength and reliability. Today, this design is applied across multiple industries, including baggage scanning, industrial metal detection, mango pulp inspection, and pharma raw material scanning, with both MS and SS options available.
